Open workshop for children during Festival on Friday 25 August
During the readings at the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival at Fort St Elmo on Friday 25 August, 8.00pm – 11.00pm, children are being invited to attend an open workshop in Maltese and English on story writing and building papier-mâché models for festivals and other outdoor activities. This parallel event, which is part of the Oħloq Kultura programme, is being organized by More or Less Theatre in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation. Parents who would like to enrol their children for this workshop are to write to firstname.lastname@example.org, indicating what time they will be attending.
In the workshop, the children are invited to hear about a culture that has already been created by one of the school groups in the Oħloq Kultura programme. During the festival evening, the children contribute to the culture’s history by collaborating on parts of a story, using story-telling formulae, and taking part in the construction of a structure using recycled material. Each group of children contributes to a part of the project, in the same way that cultures are gradually built by generations of people.
