Palk Ħieles mal-Victor Pasmore Gallery
English text below.
Victor Pasmore Gallery (il-Belt) u Inizjamed se jingħaqdu għal sensiela ta’ palkijiet ħielsa ispirati mix-xogħlijiet ta’ Victor Pasmore. Ix-xogħol ta’ Victor Pasmore se jixpruna xogħol ieħor, se jservi ta’ ispirazzjoni għal tema li l-pubbliku ġenerali hu mistieden jingaġġa magħha.
Fiż-żmien li qatta’ Malta (1966–1998), minbarra l-esplorazzjoni artistika viżiva, Victor Pasmore ttanta jħażżeż u beda jikteb il-poeżija—versi, kultant maħluqa, kultant misjuba, li eventwalment integrahom mal-pitturi tiegħu, mal-prints, u mal-pubblikazzjonijiet. Il-kontenut ta’ dawn il-kitbiet jimraħ bla kwiet, jiddubita kontinwament il-post tagħna fid-dinja, l-istorja, u l-mitoloġija. Imma l-mistoqsijiet jibqgħu bla mwieġba. Huma l-mistoqsijiet, l-att ta’ ħolqien, u l-att tal-kompożizzjoni ta’ dal-poeżiji li jżommu lill-poeta ħaj, li jagħtu vuċi, aktarx, lill-immaġni li tixxennaq biex tinħeles.
Victor Pasmore Galley (il-Belt) u Inizjamed se jiċċelebraw il-poeta u l-artist viżiv permezz ta’ tliet palkijiet ħielsa. Il-gallarija tal-arti se tiftaħ il-bibien tagħha għall-poeti, kittieba, mużiċisti, rakkuntaturi, u mastri tal-kelma biex isenslu (u jaqsmu) l-proċess tal-ħolqien tal-versi tagħhom. L-ewwel palk ħieles se jsir fid-29 ta’ Novembru fis-6pm. L-ewwel sessjoni se tkun marbuta mal-idea ta’ FORMA.
Kif naslu biex noħolqu linji, versi, u poeżiji? Xi drabi jitwieldu minn taħżiżiet u tħarbixiet fuq biċċiet ta’ karti mwarrba; xi drabi, jieħdu s-sura ta’ memorja, mitoloġija, ġrajjiet jew ħsibijiet siekta. Isma’ l-att tal-kreazzjoni, jinqara. Fl-isfond tal-esplorazzjoni tar-ritmi, il-mudelli u l-forom bażiċi ta’ Victor Pasmore—kemm fil-kitba kif ukoll fil-pittura—l-ewwel palk ħieles jiftaħ l-ispazju tiegħu għar-riflessjonijiet u l-proċessi kreattivi relatati mal-forma.
Il-palkijiet ħielsa kollha huma b’xejn u bilingwi (Malti u Ingliż). Idealment, l-udjenza tirreġistra bil-quddiem. Il-gallarija se tkun miftuħa għal min jixtieq iżurha, u l-konverżazzjonijiet ikomplu wara fuq tazza nbid.

An Open-Mic with the Victor Pasmore Gallery
Victor Pasmore Gallery (Valletta) and Inizjamed will join forces for a series of open mics inspired by Victor Pasmore’s work. Victor Pasmore’s work will act as a springboard, an inspiration for a theme the general public is invited to engage with.
Amid his continued artistic explorations throughout his time in Malta (1966–1998), Victor Pasmore dipped his pen in ink and began to write poems—verses, sometimes formed, sometimes found, that he eventually integrated into his paintings, prints, and publications. The content of these writings wander about restlessly, constantly questioning our place in the world, history, and myth. But the questions remain unanswered. It is the questioning, the creating, and composing of these poems, that keeps the poet alive, that gives a voice, perhaps, to an image that yearns to be free.
Victor Pasmore Galley (Valletta) and Inizjamed will celebrate the poet and the visual artist through three open mic sessions. The gallery will open its doors for poets, writers, musicians, storytellers, and wordsmiths to play with (and share) their verse-making process. The inaugural open mic will be held on November 29th at 6 p.m. The first session deals with the notion of FORM.
How do we go about composing lines, verses, and poems? They emerge, sometimes, from the lines and scribbles of discarded paper; they take, sometimes, the shape of memory, of myth, of happenings, of a silent thought. Hear the act of creation, spoken. Set against a backdrop of Victor Pasmore’s exploration of rhythm, patterns, and basic forms—in writing as well as painting—the first open-mic session opens a space for reflections and creative processes related to form.
All open mic sessions are free and bilingual (Maltese and English). Booking in advance is highly recommended. The gallery will be open for visits, and conversations may continue afterward over a complimentary glass of wine.
Reserve your spot by sending in your details through the form below.
The Victor Pasmore Gallery is at APS House, 275 Triq San Pawl, Valletta VLT1213.
