Kull sajf Inizjamed tieħu ftit mill-maġija tal-Festival fi Skolasajf billi tlaqqa’ lit-tfal ma’ wħud mill-kittieba mistiedna. Nhar it-Tlieta, il-kittieba, l-attriċi, u d-direttriċi tat-teatru, Simone Spiteri, mexxiet sessjoni ta’ kitba ma’ grupp ta’ studenti li jattendu ċ-ċentru ta’ Marsaskala. Magħhom iddiskutiet il-ħolqien ta’ karattru u ħeġġithom jiktbu monologu dwar sigriet li jrid jaqsam mal-udjenza. Imbagħad fi gruppi laqqgħu l-karattri ma’ xulxin u kitbu djalogu mimli tensjoni b’tilwima li tiżvolġi bejniethom.
Simone Spiteri and theatre in the Skolasajf classroom
Every summer, Inizjamed brings the magic of the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival to Skolasajf, where young minds get to meet and connect with some of the festival’s guest writers. Last Tuesday, writer, actress, and theatre director, Simone Spiteri, led a writing workshop with a group of students attending the Marsaskala centre. With them she discussed character creation and encouraged them to write a monologue about a secret the character wants to share with the audience. Then, in groups, they brought the characters together and wrote a dialogue full of tension involving a conflict that unfolds between them.
